Greek elections 2009

Never before have I been more bored or uninterested during election time. The good thing is that they have decided, the parties that is, to keep the campaigning on TV mainly and off the streets (thank you LORD!)
The bad thing is that what they say is mainly lies and sci-fi picture scenarios.
No wonder there is a huge percentage of abstinence and my guess is that we will experience a new era in Greek politics. I hope so. Any change will be for the better than the parody we live now.
Let's see..

The Irish referendum on the Lisbon Treaty on Friday is in many ways more crucial for the average Greek (and European) citizen than the Greek parliamentary elections...but of course, very few people in Greece are even aware that the Friday referendum just might determine the future of the EU. However, I still wish I was in Greece to enjoy the campaigns :(

The overwhelmin gmajority in Greece thinks that the Siemens story is the biggest scandal of all times. Haha

None of the politicians or the journalists have mentioned the referendum nor its importance, nor the Lisbon treaty as a matter of fact.

Nope, no mention. Most Greeks don't know about the LIsbon Treaty. Even less know about the referendum. Some don't know about Ireland haha
